Alfa System’s First Shmup in 12 Years ‘Sisters Royale’ Gets Western Release Date on PS4 and Switch

Chorus Worldwide announced that the Alfa System-developed shoot ’em up, Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire, will release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on January 30, 2020.

Being the first new shoot ’em up from the developer in 12 years, Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire tells the story of five sisters who each have magical abilities. The game closely resembles one of the developer’s previous releases, Castle of Shikigami. The shoot ’em up elements in the game are difficult and take skill, but there are difficulty options for those who wish for a more casual shmup experience, or at least as casual as a shmup can possibly get.

The publisher mentions that Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire is a spiritual successor to previous games from the developer. It features a “tongue-in-cheek” storyline that players of light-hearted anime and manga will enjoy.

To celebrate the announced, the publisher has released a trailer that quickly highlights each of the playable characters and their many in-game abilities. Expect waves of bullets and split-second maneuvers as players will need to use their skills if they hope to make it through this game.
