Silent Hill 2 Remake reimagines the beloved original game with modern graphics and gameplay controls. Players control protagonist James after he receives a letter from his deceased wife, prompting him to head to the place where they once shared many memories: Silent Hill. In an effort to see her one more time, James sees a woman by the lake who looks eerily similar to her, Maria.
This psychological horror adventure features ray tracing and several other enhancements to provide a familiar yet distinct unsettling ambiance alongside larger environments, such as buildings that were inaccessible in the original game. Players can also access an over-the-shoulder camera, moving from the original’s fixed camera perspective.
Five million units have been sold.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is also available on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and GOG.
