Side-Scrolling Beat ‘Em Up ‘G.I. JOE: Wrath of Cobra’ Announced

Freedom Games has announced the Maple Powered Games-developed side-scrolling beat ’em up G.I. JOE: Wrath of Cobra, set to launch for unspecified consoles and PC via Steam in 2024.

This throwback game embraces the 1980s era of the franchise, letting players control several characters such as Duke, Scarlett, Roadblock, and Snake Eyes. Many of Cobra’s lackeys will be your foes, partially comprising Cobra troopers, Vipers, and Crimson Guards. Characters Destro, Serpentor, Baroness will also be featured alongside Cobra Commander.

The title will have both local and online co-op, with each playable character possessing their own unique abilities and movesets. Iconic weapons like the H.I.S.S., C.L.A.W., and Trubble Bubble will also be included.

Fans can anticipate reimagined G.I. JOE themes from “industry veterans at Kid Katana Records” with modern twists. Post-launch support is confirmed as well, set to consist of new heroes, game modes, levels, and more.
