Spike Chunsoft, EXNOA, and Neilo have jointly announced Shuten Order, a multi-genre narrative adventure coming to PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch on September 5, 2025. The digital deluxe edition will feature an art book and mini soundtrack.
About Shuten Order
Set in a world nearing destruction, Shuten Order places players as a resurrected religious leader who has just four days to solve their own murder. The game begins during the founding festival of Shuten, a nation established by a cult-like faction called the Shuten Order. Moments into the ceremony, the group’s leader is assassinated, then revived through divine intervention, stripped of memories, and bound to a four-day time limit of life.
The killer is one of five ministers within the Shuten Order, and the player, given the alias Rei, must investigate them in a limited window of time. Crucially, it’s impossible to explore every suspect fully in a single run. Your choices determine which secrets are revealed and who lives or dies.
To survive, the protagonist must overcome “God’s trial”: identify and kill their murderer.

Different Genres
Each minister’s path redefines the gameplay, dramatically shifting the genre and mechanics.
The Ministry of Security’s Manji Fushicho turns the experience into a top-down stealth horror, requiring players to explore 3D environments, solve puzzles, and evade a pursuer named Nephilim.
The Ministry of Justice, led by Kishiru Inugami, embraces a mystery visual novel structure. It has classic interrogation and deduction gameplay through a “Snapping” mechanic that exposes contradictions in testimonies.
In Teko Ion’s Ministry of Science, players navigate a multi-perspective visual novel set during a terrorist attack, with decisions affecting multiple characters and routes.
Honoka Kokushikan of the Ministry of Education introduces a twist on romance adventures, where the protagonist must charm three students while poisoned, using timed confessions and clue-gathering to survive.
Lastly, the Ministry of Health under Yugen Ushitora becomes an escape room-style gauntlet of puzzles, where every choice could lead to death.
Completing all five routes unlocks a final chapter that unites the narrative’s threads.
