Shiren the Wanderer 6 Announced; Coming to Japan January 2024
At the Japanese Nintendo Direct, Spike Chunsoft announced that a brand-new Shiren the Wanderer game will be released next year. Titled Shiren the Wanderer 6: Dokuro-jima Tankenroku, which is roughly translated as Dokuro Island Exploration, the title will have the titular Shiren explore the island of Dokuro, where great treasure is said to lie dormant.
This is the first mainline title in the series in 14 years, not counting ports, of course. The game is currently only confirmed for Nintendo Switch on January 25, 2023, in Japan. It is unknown if a Western release will ever come, but we’ll keep you updated if an announcement is ever made.
If you weren’t aware, Shiren the Wanderer is a dungeon-crawling series of games by Spike Chunsoft. The last mainline title was Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate, where the story follows a legend that has Reeva, the god of Destiny, deciding the fate of humanity with a trio of magic dice. Players assume the role of Shiren with the help of his sidekick, Koppa, on a quest to conquer the Tower of Fortune.
