Shin Megami Tensei V Debuts Gameplay During Nintendo Treehouse Event

During Nintendo Treehouse Live E3 2021, Atlus debuted gameplay from Shin Megami Tensei V, coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on November 11, 2021.

Shin Megami Tensei V looks awesome in the nearly 20 minutes of gameplay shows. We get a look at the battle system and how players will interact with demons. Enemies can be captured by negotiation and will join your party. These are unpredictable and vary depending on which demon is trying to join.

Further, we get to see some of the pretty lonely environments, which fits the theme of the series. The main character, a high school student living an ordinary life, wanders into another world called “Da’at.” The hero fuses with a mysterious man and becomes a “Naobino,” a forbidden being, throwing himself into a battle between gods and demons.

Shin Megami Tensei V is being produced by Kazuyuki Yamai, who previously directed Shin Megami Tensei IV. The game will be heavily focused on characters who spend their days doing the mundane tasks of dealing with unemployment to the stressful nature surrounding terrorism.

Shin Megami Tensei V is being developed in Unreal Engine 4 and will feature a new main protagonist. The developer released a new trailer that reveals the protagonist, who has been shown the chaotic world and future. However, a demon appears who might be able to help and change the fate of humanity.
