Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #93 Showcases Disturbing Tree Spirit Hua Po
The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 93rd Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Hua Po, who in Chinese mythology during the Qing dynasty, was said to be a tree spirit formed from the souls of at least 3 humans who have hung themselves. They are rather diminutive in size but boast compelling vocal tones.
Hua Po wields Agilao, Maragi, Media, and some other magical skills, making her a magic-reliant demon with an affinity for the fire element while also acting as moderate support. She has not appeared in many Shin Megami Tensei titles, with her first appearance being in Nocturne, though she has made appearances in several Persona games, debuting in Persona 3 FES.
You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Hua Po below:
Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to this former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
