The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 84th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights the Mesopotamian goddess Inanna. She was quite a diverse deity, depicted as a goddess for fertility, love, war, and several other aspects. In addition to being more prominent in Sumerian myths than other notable figures, she had a really damn cool title, “Queen of Heaven.”
Inanna wields Megidolaon, Debilitate, and special Raging elemental skills that, while powerful, make her especially vulnerable to their respective opposing elements when used. She is an extremely recent addition to the series, with her only Atlus title appearance being in Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse.
If you missed it, Atlus shared a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V earlier today.
You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Inanna below:
Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to this former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
