Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #80 Showcases Egyptian Deity Seth

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 80th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Seth, an Egyptian deity with a rather extensive history full of martial and familial conflict. During the height of Egyptian power, Seth was seen as a god of foreigners, though the Greeks later perceived him as an antagonistic, evil being. This altered perception can likely be due to his association with foreigners, who could have been seen as dangerous from natives and the like.

Seth wields Mazandyne and Tentarafoo, having a notable affinity for the wind (force) element while also dabbling in ailing the status of foes. He has appeared in numerous Shin Megami Tensei and Persona titles, being a mainstay of sorts.

You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Seth below:

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to this former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
