Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #78 Showcases The Northward Bishamonten

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 78th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Bishamonten, one of the 4 figures placed at Buddhist temples’ main altars. These figures are representative of the world’s 4 cardinal directions, and in Bishamonten’s case, he represents north. Additionally, he originated as a deity of wealth in Hindu mythology and is one of the 7 lucky gods in Japanese mythology.

Bishamonten wields Deathbound, Agidyne, and Matarukaja, making him an excellent physical attacker with an affinity for the fire element. He has also appeared in several other Shin Megami Tensei and Persona games.

You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Bishamonten below:

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to this former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
