The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 77th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Ananta, a figure in Hindu myth depicted as one of the primal beings of creation. The legendary Hindu god Vishnu used Ananta as a bed of sorts, which didn’t truly bother the serpent as he had great respect for the god. Each of his heads shoots out venom and fire. Additionally, at the end of each Earth time period, Ananta is said to destroy all creation.
Ananta wields Maziodyne and Mabufudyne, making it an end-game level demon strongly suited to offensive magic. They are not exactly a mainstay in Shin Megami Tensei, as in it hasn’t appeared in every title, so it’s cool to see it definitively return here.
You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Ananta below:
Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to this former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
