Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #66 Showcases The Iconic Two-Headed Beast Orthrus
The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 66th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Orthrus, an iconic two-headed beast known for its presence across numerous Shin Megami Tensei and Persona titles. He was a sibling of the legendary Cerberus and was a proficient guard dog but was slain by the mythical hero, Heracles.
Orthrus possesses an affinity for the element of fire, with skills such as Fire Breath being contained within his repertoire. Additionally, he’s a capable attacker and defender, fitting given his origins, with Fang Breaker and Marakunda also in his arsenal.
You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Orthrus below:
Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to this former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
