Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #203 Showcases Goddess of Lust and Battle, Ishtar

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 203rd Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Ishtar, a goddess from Akkadian mythology who governs love, lust, and war. She is featured in the Epic of Gilgamesh, where she became sexually involved with several notable historical figures. However, the conclusions of their time together resulted in her either killing them or transforming them into different beings.

Ishtar is a boss encounter and only has 1 unique lightning elemental skill shown. She debuted in Shin Megami Tensei II, and her first Persona game appearance was in the first title.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at’. He quickly finds out that he’s’ not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at’ and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
