Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #194 Showcases Multi-Headed Greek Myth Beast, Chimera

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 194th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Chimera, a beast from Greek myth that, at least in this appearance, possesses the heads of a lion and goat alongside a snake for a tail. It was initially portrayed as a holy beast, but later texts chose to depict it as senselessly savage.

Chimera wields several physical skills and Ziodyne, making it a powerful strength-based demon that can also provide offensive magical support. It debuted in the original Megami Tensei, with its first Persona game appearance being in Persona 3.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at’. He quickly finds out that he’s’ not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at’ and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
