The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 187th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Pyro Jack, also known as Jack-O’Lantern. In an old legend, a man named Jack somehow managed to convince the Devil not to take him to Hell, though he also couldn’t gain passage to Heaven. This man would then wander Earth and would be called Jack-O’Latern due to the shape of his head.
Pyro Jack wields an expected vast array of fire-related skills, giving him a significant affinity towards the element while being noticeably weak to ice. He debuted in Megami Tensei II (his design then was something else, let me tell ya), and his first Persona game appearance was in the first title.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at’. He quickly finds out that he’s’ not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at’ and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
