Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #173 Showcases Hindu Goddess of Havoc and Demise, Kali

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 173rd Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Kali, a goddess from Hindu mythology who is essentially a different state of another Hindu goddess, Parvati. She is commonly associated with generalized death and destruction, though some interpretations label her as a goddess of time.

Kali wields Agidyne, Hell Thrust, and several other skills, giving her an affinity to the element of fire while also being stellar with physical damage. She debuted in the original Megami Tensei, with her first Persona game appearance being in the first title.

You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Kali below:

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
