Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #172 Showcases the Safeguarding Half-Serpent, Raja Naga
The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 172nd Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Raja Naga, a half-serpent, half-human deity in Buddhist and Hindu myths. Due to its perceived adeptness at defensive capabilities, statues of Raja Naga would be built at vital places for blessings of protection. Additionally, it was said to wield unique gems that acted as ideal light sources.
Raja Naga wields Shockbound and Ice Breath, making its resistance to electricity prominently known, though its prior appearances tend to categorize it as more reliable with physical skills. It debuted in the original Megami Tensei, with its first Persona game appearance being in the first title.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
