Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #162 Showcases the Aztec Deity of Creation, Quetzalcoatl
The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 162nd Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Quetzalcoatl, an Aztec god of the sky who is symbolic of its associated features and traits such as the sun. It is also notable for being a god of creation.
Quetzalcoatl wields a variety of wind, fire, and other spells, making it offensively magic-centric. Interestingly, its appearances in earlier Shin Megami Tensei games depicted the demon as vastly superior with physical strength, though that’s gradually altered as more titles have been released. Quetzalcoatl debuted in the original Megami Tensei, and its first Persona game appearance was in the first one.
You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Quetzalcoatl below:
Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
