The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 158th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Camael, a lesser-known archangel who governs several positive facets of life such as beauty and happiness. Interestingly, he is not present in the Bible, making his existence an unofficially recognized one.
Camael wields Diarahan and physical and light-based skills, making him a seemingly all-rounder combatant who can provide support and deal moderate damage. He debuted in Shin Megami Tensei II and has never appeared in any Persona title. Additionally, this marks his first game appearance since Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, roughly 13 years ago.
You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Camael below:
Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
