Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #155 Showcases the Omnipotent Egyptian God of Good Thoth
The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 155th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Thoth, an omnipotent Egyptian god whose doctrine opposes all he perceives as evil. For instance, he takes all measures to negate the evil being Seth. Additionally, Thoth sides with the underworld gods Osiris and Isis.
Thoth wields Matarunda, Concentrate, Megido, and Hamaon, making him a strongly magic-centric demon with the ability to decimate foes if given the opportunity to empower himself. He debuted in Shin Megami Tensei: if… and his first Persona game appearance was in Persona 3 FES.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
