Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #139 Showcases the Hindu Goddess of Love Parvati

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 139th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Parvati, a goddess of several aspects in Hindu mythology such as love, beauty, and marriage. While Sati was Shiva’s first wife, Parvati is Sati’s reincarnation and became Shiva’s second one. Additionally, Shiva and Parvati can merge into a powerful being known as Ardha.

Parvati wields Media, Mahama, and Matarunda, making her a supportive demon with the affinity of the element of light. She debuted in Shin Megami Tensei II, and her first Persona game appearance was in Persona 2: Innocent Sin.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
