Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #125 Showcases the Cursed King of Fae Oberon

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 125th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Oberon, the king of the Fae, whose exact manner and style of ruling differs heavily across numerous depictions. Still, his curse of being the height of a child is consistent, as well as his supposed eternal beauty.

Oberon wields Ziodyne, Matarukaja, and Mahamaon, usually making him a magic-centric demon with an affinity for the element of lightning and adeptly skilled at applying buffs. He debuted in the original Shin Megami Tensei, and his first Persona game appearance was in Persona 3.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
