Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #118 Showcases the Dark Angel Sandalphon
The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 118th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Sandalphon, an archangel in Judaic mythology who is regarded as the “dark angel” as opposed to his twin brother, Metatron, who is commonly referred to as the “bright angel.” His body size is massive, to the degree where it’s said that it would take a human 500 years to walk across the entirety of it. Additionally, Sandalphon is respected as a master of sacred songs and he determines one’s gender while they’re an embryo.
Sandalphon wields Megidolaon and Hamabarion, granting him an expected affinity for Light while offering excellent magical damage. He debuted in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner, and his first Persona appearance was in Persona 3.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
