Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #114 Showcases the Northern European Faerie Sandman
The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 114th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Sandman, a faerie from roughly Northern European myth who would pour sand into sleeping children’s eyes. Resistant children’s eyes would be sat upon by Sandman while the particularly aggressive kids would lose their eyeballs entirely.
Fairies tend to be innocent and pure spiritual beings while faeries are the opposite, being dangerously horrid and hostile towards others.
Sandman is usually both an adequate physical attacker and a magic-user who wields and is resistant to the element of wind. His Shin Megami Tensei debut was in the original Strange Journey, while his first Persona appearance was in Persona 4.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
