Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #111 Showcases the Elephant-Headed Hindu God Ganesha

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 111th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Ganesha, a well-known god in Hinduism who iconically has the head of an elephant. He presides over the arts and sciences and is referred to as the Lord of Beginnings while controlling the placements of life’s obstacles.

Ganesha wields Mazandyne, Wind Dracostrike, Charge, and Mighty Sword, making him a reliable physical attacker with an affinity for the element of wind. He has become a mainstay in Shin Megami Tensei and Persona, debuting in the former’s initial outing and first appearing in the Persona series with Persona 3.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
