Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #103 Showcases Celtic Water Horse Kelpie

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 103rd Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Kelpie, a supernatural water horse in Celtic mythology that is said to have lured children to water sources so it can eat them. Additionally, its back acted as a form of adhesive and would entrap anyone who would attempt to ride on it.

Kelpie wields Mabufula, Masukunda, and Critical Wave, making it a sort of all-rounder, though it traditionally consistently has high agility, especially in its latest appearances. It is a classic demon in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, having appeared in numerous titles since the beginning, though its first Persona appearance is extremely recent, being Persona 5.

You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Kelpie below:

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
