Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #61 Showcases The Cat General Neko Shogun
The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 61st Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights the popular cat general Neko Shogun. This demon is rather well known by both Shin Megami Tensei and Persona fans, so his return in Shin Megami Tensei V is not surprising in the least. However, Neko Shogun is based on a Chinese general in real life who got a temple named after him but said general’s name closely coincided with the Chinese word for cat, leading to an erroneous naming, but one that stuck.
Neko Shogun wields useful skills such as the light healing spell Dia and the first stage evasion/hit rate debuff spell, Sukunda. Additionally, Heat Wave and Lunge make him a reliable attacker.

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.
When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to this former home.
Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
