CFK and DeerFarm have unveiled gameplay details for their upcoming side-scrolling shoot ’em up, Shikhondo: Blue Pieta.
Set in a city plagued by distortions, the story follows a vampire hunter, Layla, and a rookie grim reaper, Chae Woori, as they investigate unnatural phenomena.
The game introduces a major shift for the series by moving from vertical to side-scrolling gameplay. A central mechanic is the returning Soul Collect system, where players graze enemy bullets to build a gauge. Once activated, it transforms bullets into score items and increases multipliers.
New is the Counter Bomb system, which allows players to negate damage if they react within a very short window after being hit. Full voice acting and ultra-wide support will also be available.
Shikhondo: Blue Pieta is planned for release in the first half of 2026 on PC (Steam and Stove), with console versions for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 to follow.
