NIS Strategy RPG ‘Shikabanegurai no Boukenmeshi’ Revealed for PS4 and Switch in Trailer
Nippon Ichi Software has shared the first trailer for their newest strategy RPG Shikabanegurai no Boukenmeshi, in development for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch for a January 27, 2022 launch in Japan. At this time, a western release has not been confirmed, but NIS America will most likely localize it.
Shikabanegurai no Boukenmeshi is a strategy RPG where players can create a party of heroes who are stuck inside of a dungeon and need to escape. During gameplay, they’ll need to take into account their morale and hunger, which will affect their performance in fights.
Character designer Takehito Harada provided designs for this new adventure. You may know his work from The Witch and the Hundred Knight and, more notably, the Disgaea series. The idea of the game revolves around food and eating, so cooking mechanics received a large focus. Players are able to create their own character and change their appearance at the start of the game. Four characters can be created to head out. Character classes can also be customized.
This is a dungeon crawler with survival elements so players can take the time between floors to rest and upgrade their material. Food also grants buffs as players can combine dishes with materials found in the dungeon.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the development of Shikabanegurai no Boukenmeshi.
