Sega Provides Details on Shenmue I & II in Continued Video Series

Sega has launched part two of their video series that highlights a key area of the Shenmue series lore, all narrated by the English voice actor of Ryo Hazuki, Corey Marshall.

Part two of the series focuses on the characters of Shenmue I & II. By providing details on the main protagonist, Ryo Hazuki, the video also briefly explains the mysterious Shenhua who are invading Ryo’s dreams. Additionally, players get a preview of the Heavens gang leader, Ren, as well as some of the hundreds of NPCs that roam the streets going about their daily lives.

This series has been created to update returning players who haven’t played the titles in a while, but also serve as an introduction for new players to show what awaits them on this adventure.

Shenmue I & II is an HD port of the classic adventure series coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 21.

In case you missed it, part one of the series launched recently giving details on Shenmue I & II’s story.

Author’s take: Seeing these characters brings back a lot of memories. I’m glad the team went with a port instead of a full remaster because this is a product of its time and pushed what I thought games were capable of in that generation. I’d like to re-experience that and it hopefully is the perfect way to introduce the title to new generation gamers.
