Shakugan no Shana S IV Light Novel Announces November 2023 Japan Release
Dengeki has announced that the Shakugan no Shana series has returned after several years with a new light novel volume, Shakugan no Shana S IV.
Our team’s Ryuji translated the following synopsis:
The new world of Xanadu. There are two shadows moving through this chaotic paradise. Their identities are the Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter, Shana, and the World-Wandering Ascetic, Yūji Sakai. The two were still fighting to bring order to this new world. Everything has a long way to go. The road is steep. But it is one worth taking.
In addition to both Amphitheater and Quiddity, which follows Shana and Yuji’s journey into a new world after the conclusion of the main story, this new volume also includes two new novels written by the author, in addition to three handwritten novels.
A new tale of Shana is spun after 11 years…
Amphitheater and Quiddity are previously published short stories and are compiled here alongside new short stories across 248 pages.
Pre-orders are available via Dengeki for ¥726 ahead of a November 10, 2023, release in Japan.
Shakugan no Shana was originally a light novel series that began serialization in 2002, concluding in 2012 with 26 volumes. J.C. Staff also produced a three-season anime series. This slice-of-life and fantasy adventure is focused on protagonist Yuji Sakai, a seemingly ordinary high schooler who finds himself involved with supernatural beings originating from The Crimson Realm.
He then learns that he died and was brought back as a temporary existence known as a Torch. Afterward, Yuji encounters a youth named Shana, an adept combatant, and the two face various threats that put the mortal world in peril.
