Shakugan no Shana was originally a light novel series that began serialization in 2022, concluding in 2012 with 26 volumes. J.C. Staff also produced a three-season anime series. This slice-of-life and fantasy adventure focused on protagonist Yuji Sakai, a seemingly ordinary high schooler who finds himself involved with supernatural beings originating from The Crimson Realm.

He then learns that he died and was brought back as a temporary existence known as a Torch. Afterward, Yuji encounters a youth named Shana, an adept combatant, and the two face various threats that put the mortal world in peril.
