DLC support for Shadow of the Tomb Raider keeps on rolling out. Last month, there was ‘The Price of Survival’ DLC, the month before that, ‘The Nightmare’, but now there’s another new DLC for fans to enjoy. Square Enix, Eidos-Montréal, and Crystal Dynamic are excited to announce ‘The Serpent’s Heart,’ the newest DLC adventure for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, is available now. It’s out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam as a free download to all Season Pass holders and sold separately for $4.99.
For ‘The Serpent’s Heart’ DLC, Lara must endure the mighty and challenging Slayer’s Gauntlet in an attempt to save the lives of loyal rebels. If you remember the TV show Prison Break, Lara has to do something a little similar: Stage a daring prison break by infiltrating an enemy fortress, and then engage in a tough battle against evil Kukulkan cultists. It’s not exactly like Prison Break, you know since Lara has to fight cultists, but you get what I mean. Not only must Lara do all this, however, as she must also complete the Slayer’s Gauntlet in order to receive the power of the serpent god. Sadly, she doesn’t get any poisonous abilities, but she does get some neat equipment.
Those who complete the challenge tomb will be rewarded with the Divine Bounty skill, which causes fallen foes to yield more gold coins when looted (making it rain gold coins sounds pretty great). ‘The Serpent’s Heart’ also features the Dragon Scales outfit, which reduces fire damage, prevents stumbling, and accelerates health regeneration. Last but not least, players will receive The Serpent Lash bow, which deals out extra fire damage.
As part of the update, tombs from the main campaign, Judge’s Gaze, Underworld Gate, Howling Caves, Path of Battle, Temple of the Sun, San Cordoba, Ancient Aqueduct, and Thirsty Gods are all now playable in Score Attack and Time Attack modes, so Shadow of the Tomb Raider speedrunners and completionist, now is your time to shine.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is available now worldwide on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
