Netmarble has announced that The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will receive its Half-Anniversary update on August 26, adding Ban as a playable hero alongside Act 16 of the main story, the new Labyrinth mode, equipment Transcendence, and several limited-time events.

In combat, Ban can use Nunchaku, Greatsword, and Gauntlet weapons. The main story continues through Act 16, taking players to Ravens. The update also introduces Labyrinth, weekly content where players can use different heroes regardless of their existing growth levels.

Another addition is Transcendence, a new equipment growth system. A Transcendence difficulty is also being introduced alongside Indura Monspeet as a new boss. This follows the August 12 addition of the Memory of Dimensions quest, which recreates the first encounter from the opening episode of the original The Seven Deadly Sins manga and anime.

The developer has also changed the early-game experience surrounding SSR Meliodas. New players who complete the tutorial are guaranteed SSR Meliodas from their first summon. Anyone who previously completed the tutorial can obtain him after logging in.

Spin, Orb of Greed will distribute a combined 500 million Star Fragments across the event period. Players can complete missions for event currency and use it for chances to receive prizes, including a possible 30,000 Star Fragments at once.

The first Half-Anniversary Poll Event will run from August 26 through September 2. Players can select three characters who have appeared in Pick Up Draws since launch and use a special snatch mechanic to give one of those selections an additional vote, for four votes in total. The three highest-voted characters will become part of the Half-Anniversary Festival Poll lineup when Part 2 arrives on September 16.

Other events beginning August 26 include A Small Gift from The Seven Deadly Sins, where speaking to Seven Deadly Sins NPCs each day provides rewards, and the Half-Anniversary Reward Selection Check-In Event. Check-in rewards include Hero Pick Up Draw Tickets, Regular Hero Draw Tickets, and Brilliant Engraving Seal.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is available on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and mobile devices via iOS and Android.
