Sega’s New Crazy Taxi Described as “Triple-A Title”

Following Sega’s announcement at The Game Awards 2023 of several franchise revivals in the works, new details have surfaced for the new Crazy Taxi project. In a recent article by the Japan Times discussing the importance of their newly opened Sapporo Studio, Crazy Taxi is passively mentioned as a Triple-A title. This new studio is working on this reboot alongside Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis and Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! in cooperation with the overseas and Tokyo Sega studios.

Further details were not stated, but this alone illustrates that the new Crazy Taxi is a far more massive scale than many of us previously thought. One has to wonder if the other Sega reboots will be given the same treatment.

You can view the full article by the Japan Times for details regarding the Sega Sapporo Studio and how it has affected employees’ lives.

The new Crazy Taxi was initially just described as the following:

A whacky, high-octane driving adventure series where players must weave through traffic in an open play environment to deliver passengers to their destinations before time runs out.

We’ll keep you all updated on the new Crazy Taxi and other Sega revivals, which include Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage.
