Sega Reveals 10 More Classics for the Sega Genesis Mini, Including ‘Mega Man: The Wily Wars’
Sega has confirmed 10 more old-school cool games that will be included in the Sega Genesis Mini, the upcoming micro-console that’s releasing on September 19 and will cost $79.99.
The new list of games includes several notable Capcom titles from yore like an epic Street Fighter game and a rare Mega Man collection, but the list also includes several other games all retro gamers know and love.
Mega Man: The Wily Wars is a compilation of remakes of Mega Man, Mega Man 2, and Mega Man 3 — which all actually originally released on the NES. The sad thing is is that it was published on cartridge for over in the east and in PAL regions, but didn’t come west until the Sega Channel online service.
All in all, the Sega Genesis Mini will include 40 games. As of today, we know 30 of those 40, so we’ll have to wait and see what the other 10 will be. For now, here’s the complete list of the 10 newly announced titles coming to the Sega micro-console:
- Mega Man: The Wily Wars
- Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition
- Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
- Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
- Beyond Oasis
- Golden Axe
- Phantasy Star 4: The End of the Millennium
- Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball
- Vectorman
- Wonder Boy in Monster World
And then, here are the other 20 previously announced titles:
- Earthworm Jim
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse
- World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck
- Contra: Hard Corps
- Streets of Rage 2
- Thunder Force 3
- Super Fantasy Zone
- Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master
- Landstalker
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Ecco the Dolphin
- Castlevania: Bloodlines
- Space Harrier 2
- Shining Force
- Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
- ToeJam & Earl
- Comix Zone
- Altered Beast
- Gunstar Heroes
Sega also announced that the Retro-Bit Sega Genesis six-button controller will be released in August for $19.99. Games on the Sega Genesis Mini that will support the six-button gamepad will include Street Fighter 2, Beyond Oasis, and Comix Zone (I love this game!).
The Sega Genesis Mini for the states will include an HDMI cable, a power cable, an adapter, and two controllers.
