Sega Delisting Standalone Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles & Sonic CD Versions; Some Exceptions

Sega has announced that ahead of the upcoming release of the classic Sonic the Hedgehog collection, Sonic Origins, they will be delisting standalone versions of the games within that collection on May 20, 2022. Sonic the Hedgehog 1, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD will all be made unavailable for further purchases on various platforms like Steam and other digital storefronts.

However, there are a few exceptions to this incoming occurrence. The mobile versions of Sonic the Hedgehog 1, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic CD will remain available. Further, the Nintendo Switch Online version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 alongside the Sega Ages releases of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 on Nintendo Switch will also remain.
