Developer Skyward Entertainment and publisher Headup have revealed Second Stone, a narrative-driven action RPG, alongside a new announcement trailer. The game is currently in development for PC and will launch via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.
Second Stone follows a young protagonist named Shiren as he searches for his missing spirit guardian. The story unfolds across two fractured worlds that appear to be on the verge of colliding, forming the backdrop for both exploration and combat.
The game centers on high-mobility action RPG combat, with an emphasis on fast movement, platforming, and environmental interaction. Players will use magic-based abilities while navigating combat encounters that tie closely into traversal mechanics and puzzle elements.
Customization plays a major role through a modular system built around elemental stones. These can be combined to create different abilities, then equipped to shape your combat approach. The system allows for a range of builds depending on how players choose to mix and match their abilities.
A central village hub acts as a home base between missions. Here, players can upgrade equipment, take on quests from NPCs, and access side activities, including a dice-based minigame.
Outside the hub, exploration spans a colorful overworld and a darker mirrored version of it. Both areas contain resources and artifacts used to strengthen Shiren, with survival elements tied to navigating the more dangerous zones. The game also features procedurally generated labyrinth dungeons that offer repeatable challenges and randomized layouts for players seeking rare rewards.
