Second Extinction Gets New Gameplay Showcasing Intense Dinosaur Action

During IGN’s Summer of Games livestream, publisher/developer Systemic Reaction revealed new gameplay for their upcoming co-op FPS Second Extinction, coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC later this year.

The gameplay showcased three players making their way through a snowy landscape filled with raptors. The trailer also featured an interview with Brynley Gibson, the Lead Producer of Systemic Reaction. Gibson commented on many different aspects of Second Extinction, from the different enemy types to the diversity of the game’s playable heroes.

Gibson noted that the game will not feature an open world, but instead a “big map” with room for exploration that won’t have the same scale as an open world map.

There will be an open beta for Second Extinction coming in the next few months that players can sign up for here.

Second Extinction is a three-player co-op FPS where your goal is to wipeout all of the mutant dinosaurs that have overtaken the earth. Players will choose between different playable heroes that specialize in different areas, such as Orgeta the Trooper, Rosy the Enforcer and Amir the Operative.

The waves of dinosaurs players will be gunning down in Second Extinction aren’t your momma’s dinosaurs. The reptilian vermin that now cover the Earth sport bright colors and deadly abilities, ranging from acid spitting to electric shocks.

Second Extinction is part of Xbox’s Smart Delivery program, meaning that if you buy the game on Xbox One, you’ll also gain access to its Series X counterpart.
