Sea of Stars Verified on Steam Deck Ahead of Launch
Following Sabotage Studio announcing that their upcoming turn-based RPG Sea of Stars went gold, meaning that development has been completed, the team has now announced that the title is Steam Deck verified.
This means that alongside simply being functional, the title will immediately work when launched on the device, is optimized, and requires no additional steps or configuration.
Sea of Stars stars Valere and Zale, two characters with the same fate of becoming Solstice Warriors. Each share the power of the Sun and Moon to perform what is known as Eclipse Magic to fight against an evil alchemist, The Fleshmancer.
Combat in Sea of Stars has players take control of six-party members in turn-based RPG systems. The game also removes level grinding as character skills are unlocked through game progression and not tied to how many fights are taken. When battles occur, players must use their tactical skills to make it out and pre-emptively counter powerful enemy attacks.
Sea of Stars ran a successful Kickstarter to fund its development, with a recent trailer showing 19 minutes of gameplay.
Sea of Stars will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on August 29, 2023. It will launch on Game Pass and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on launch day.
The game’s demo is available on all platforms.
