Sea of Stars Goes Gold Ahead of Launch Next Month
Developer Sabotage Studio has announced that their upcoming turn-based RPG, Sea of Stars, has gone gold, meaning that development is complete, and all we have to do now is wait for the game’s release.
The following message was shared with fans:
“Sea of Stars has gone gold! The master build was submitted to certification, meaning the next people to touch the game will be all of you. Thanks again for the overwhelming support over the years, we hope you’re looking forward to an exciting adventure!”
In June 2023, the team announced that the title was “fully playable from [the] title screen to end credits including all of the optional content,” so it was only a matter of time until this feat was reached, but it’s exciting nonetheless.
Sea of Stars stars Valere and Zale, two characters with the same fate of becoming Solstice Warriors. Each shares the power of the Sun and Moon to perform what is known as Eclipse Magic to fight against an evil alchemist, The Fleshmancer.
Combat in Sea of Stars has players take control of six-party members in turn-based RPG systems. The game also removes level grinding as character skills are unlocked through game progression and not tied to how many fights are taken. When battles occur, players must use their tactical skills to make it out and pre-emptively counter powerful enemy attacks.
Sea of Stars ran a successful Kickstarter to fund its development, with a recent trailer showing 19 minutes of gameplay.
Sea of Stars will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on August 29, 2023. It will launch on Game Pass and the PlayStation Plug Game Catalog on launch day.
The game’s demo is available on all platforms.
