Sea of Stars Gets August Release Date; Demo Available Now on Switch
Sabotage announced that their turn-based RPG, Sea of Stars, set in the universe of The Messanger, is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on August 29, 2023.
Further, the developer announced that Switch players can play the game now via a demo on eShop. The demo’s dense slice of early-game content showcases Sea of Stars’ main systems and mechanics, introducing key characters and the adventure’s tone in a spoiler-free, close-to-final vision look at the game featuring pirates, puzzles, and exploration.
Sea of Stars stars Valere and Zale, two characters who share the same fate of becoming Solstice Warriors. Each shares the power of the Sun and Moon to perform what is known as Eclipse Magic to fight against an evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.
Combat in Sea of Stars has players take control of six-party members in turn-based RPG systems. The game also removes level grinding as character skills are unlocked through game progression and not tied to how many fights are taken. When battles occur, players must use their tactical skills to make it out and pre-emptively counter powerful enemy attacks.
Sea of Stars ran a successful Kickstarter to fund its development with the most recent gameplay trailer showing a boss encounter.
