Turn-Based Roguelike ‘Sea Horizon’ Launches on Steam Early Access in the West; Free Demo Available

Softstar announced that the 45 Studio-developed turn-based roguelike, Sea Horizon, is available now on PC via Steam Early Access.

Sea Horizon is using the early access period to build a community for the game and get feedback to assist with development. The game is labeled as a “work in progress” that needs improvements. The team plans to release version 1.0 in 6 to 12 months, but there’s no release window. The full version will include additional characters, items, bosses, and language options.

Currently, the gameplay mechanics are complete, including the combat system, dungeon crawling, story chapters, various characters, and enemies. In addition, there’s enough content available to play the game and provide feedback.

Sea Horizon takes place in the land of Myrihyn, which has been shattered into thousands of smaller islands. Players will travel by ship to explore the lands and “stop the invasion of the dark fiend.” During battles and actions, players will roll dice that determine their equipment and resources. Combat takes place on the field, where players can view their party on a 2D field facing the enemy and strategize their approach to the fight. Each character has a different class and ability, but the core gameplay is structured as a gameboard.

We’ll keep you updated on the development of Sea Horizon.
