Scarlet Nexus Update Version 1.04 Now Available; Adds Challenges, Cosmetics, Brain Talks, and More

Bandai Namco has revealed the contents of update 1.04 for their sci-fi action JRPG, Scarlet Nexus.

Firstly, the new Challenge content is essentially achievements with individual requirements that offer a variety of items such as cosmetics and weapons. They can be viewed via the Library option in the main menu. There are around 50 Challenges to complete, such as using Brain Crush a certain amount of times. Secondly, new plug-ins and other items are available to obtain via the shop’s exchange function.

More Brain Talking interactions have been added, though the specifics of who will participate in these conversations are not provided.

Scarlet Nexus is set in the distant future, where a psionic hormone has been discovered in the human brain. This leads to people gaining extra-sensory powers and thus changing the world. Humanity entered a new era, but deranged mutants known as Others began to descend from the sky with a hunger for human brains.

These enemies aren’t affected by mortal weapons, so humanity is forced to rely on those with abilities to save the world. Players take on the role of Yuito Sumeragi or Kasane Randall to uncover the mysteries of a Brain Punk future caught between technological dependence and psychic abilities.

Scarlet Nexus is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
