Puzzle-Adventure ‘Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood’ Gets PC Early Access Release Date With New Trailer

Headup announced that the Devespresso-developed adventure puzzle game Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood will launch on Steam Early Access on February 10.

The Early Access version of the game will feature the first chapters followed by multiple updates that will expand the content by a few chapters throughout late February. The final chapter, which features multiple endings, will release in March, along with the game’s official launch.

Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood will feature the developer’s hand-illustrated graphics in their previous titles, The Coma, from designer Minho Kim with a story by T.L. Riven. The game is set in an Oz-like fantasy world where the characters are stuck in a time loop that creates branching pather.

Players assume the role of Scarlet, who awakes in the realm of Gloome after being caught in a tornado. She explores the magical region to find riddles, which must be completed to go home. However, the Recursion Hex has her living the same day, which leads her to multiple endings. Further, there’s a hungry wolf that roams the forest and a wicked witch full of spells. Scarlet relies on a small fox friend to guide her through whatever obstacles await.

The publisher also released a new trailer that highlights some of the gameplay that players can expect in this upcoming adventure:
