The Coma Developer Reveals ‘Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood’ as Time-Loop Puzzler in New Trailer
Headup announced that they will publish the Devespresso-developed adventure puzzle game Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood, with a Steam Early Access release planned for February.
Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood will feature the developer’s hand-illustrated graphics in their previous titles, The Coma, from designer Minho Kim with a story by T.L. Riven. The game is set in an Oz-like fantasy world where the characters are stuck in a time loop that creates branching pather.
Players assume the role of Scarlet, who awakes in the realm of Gloome after being caught in a tornado. She explores the magical region to find riddles, which must be completed to go home. However, the Recursion Hex has her living the same day, which leads her to multiple endings. Further, there’s a hungry wolf that roams the forest and a wicked witch full of spells. Scarlet relies on a small fox friend to guide her through whatever obstacles await.
Currently, Scarlet Hood and the Wicked Wood is only announced for PC. Still, considering the developer’s other titles being brought to consoles, we should expect an announcement during the Early Access period.
For now, you can watch the teaser trailer below, and we’ll be sure to share more when it’s announced:
