Sony and Housemarque have announced that Saros, the next action title from the developers of Returnal, will launch for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on March 20, 2026. The release date was revealed during the State of Play presentation in September 2025, alongside a new gameplay trailer.
The new trailer shown during State of Play gives an extended look at gameplay, highlighting the game’s pacing, combat depth, and visual presentation.
Saros stars Arjun Devraj (voiced by Rahul Kohli), a Soltari enforcer trying to survive on the lost colony of Carcosa during a total eclipse. Players can expect cinematic, fast-paced action through dynamic, shifting biomes filled with hostile ruins and alien threats.
Combat leans into precise dodges, parries, and shield usage, alongside a high-tech loadout built from both human and alien weapons. Boss encounters are designed to test your pattern recognition and adaptability, demanding you evolve your playstyle as the game progresses.
A “Second Chance” system supports progression by letting you return stronger after death. Combined with permanent upgrades and evolving gear, the game pushes replayability while maintaining a challenging edge.
