God of War: Ragnarök is one of the most anticipated upcoming PlayStation exclusive games. After teasing the game in September 2020, Santa Monica Studio has been silent about the development of the game until today during the Playstation Showcase 2021.
It is the direct sequel to 2018’s Game of the Year God of War, the successful reboot of Sony’s action-heavy franchise. God of War: Ragnarök continues the story of Kratos and Atreus in the lands of Norse mythology. This time, the father and son try to stop Ragnarök as they face the God of Thunder himself, Thor. The trailer also shows a slightly older Atreus, who is now more of a teenager than a young boy. We also see the duo seeking out the Norse god of war, Tyr, for guidance.
Though they planned to have a 2021 release date, Santa Monica Studio tweeted a statement earlier this year stating the sequel would be delayed due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, we did not get a release date for God of War: Ragnarök.
