SNK announced that they will be bringing some fighting game history to modern consoles with the release of Samurai Shodown Neogeo Collection, coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on July 28 and PC-via Epic Game Store on June 11 and Steam on June 18.
The collection includes:
- Samurai Shodown
- Samurai Shodown II
- Samurai Shodown III
- Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge
- Samurai Shodown V
- Samurai Shodown V Special
- Samurai Shodown V Perfect
Each title brings with it a pixel-perfect port of the classic Neogeo fighters from a series that began in 1993. For those wondering what the hell Samurai Shodown V Perfect is, well, it’s a never before released title that SNK fans never received, but always wanted. The game features a brand-new story and ending, and is said to be the true and final game made for Neogeo.
Players can choose between Japanese or English arcade versions for each title as well as customize their experience with features such as scanlines, save function, and arcade mode the removes Game Overs. Each title will feature an Online Mode that players can play, which feature ranked and casual matched. The mode also feature leaderboards and an online arcade mode.
