SNK Corporation confirmed that the recently announced Samurai Shodown Neogeo Collection will launch on PC-via the Epic Games Store for free from June 11 through June 16.
Eager fans will be able to download the seven-part collection ahead of the other platform releases. On June 18, the Steam version goes live while PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch owners will need to wait until July 28 to pick up their copy, after June 18 the game will be $39.99. However, the team has plans for a physical release on console, with more news coming soon.
The collection includes:
- Samurai Shodown
- Samurai Shodown II
- Samurai Shodown III
- Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge
- Samurai Shodown V
- Samurai Shodown V Special
- Samurai Shodown V Perfect
Each title brings with it a pixel-perfect port of the classic Neogeo fighters from a series that began in 1993. For those wondering what the hell Samurai Shodown V Perfect is, well, it’s a never before released title that SNK fans never received, but always wanted. The game features a brand-new story and ending, and is said to be the true and final game made for Neogeo.
Players can choose between Japanese or English arcade versions for each title as well as customize their experience with features such as scanlines, save function, and arcade mode the removes Game Overs. Each title will feature an Online Mode that players can play, which feature ranked and casual matched. The mode also features leaderboards and an online arcade mode.
